For the first time in its history, Minnesota Opera presents a free outdoor simulcast of its season-opening performance of Puccini’s La fanciulla del West. Bring a picnic, family, and friends and enjoy a relaxed autumn night to remember. Food and beverages available for purchase. This event is free, but reservations are required.
Sung in Italian with English captions presented on the screen.
Run time is 3 hours, including two 20-minute intermissions.

An area will be reserved for accessible seating. Please arrive early to ensure a spot.
Wristbands will be given to those people whose IDs indicate they are at least 21 years of age. You must have a wristband to purchase alcoholic beverages, which must be consumed within the park perimeter. You may not bring your own beverages.
You can enter the simulcast area at every corner of Rice Park.
Pets are not allowed in Rice Park during the event. Service animals allowed.
Portable restrooms will be available outside near the corner of 4th and Market.
A large number of chairs will be provided, however some will be reserved for accessibility seating. Guests are welcome to bring their own folding chairs.
Parking on the street surrounding the event will be unavailable. Please use a nearby parking lot. More information on parking.
The weather is always a consideration, and one that we can never predict. There is no rain date for this event – the simulcast will occur in rain or shine.
