This opera is based on the popular children’s tale originally from northern New Mexico.
DOWN IN THE VALLEY by Kurt Weill, called an American folk opera, is about the tragic fate of a young boy who fights to defend the girl he loves. Weill uses popular America melodies such as DOWN IN THE VALLEY and THE LONESOME DOVE to tell this unique opera written specifically for kid voices.
NOYE’S FLUDDE by Benjamin Britten, a children’s operatic masterpiece, is a parable for young voices.
