Aaron Preusse

Aaron has received the honor of Advanced Gold with Recommendation from the British Academy of Dramatic Combat. He is currently an Advanced Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors having received recommended passes in all eight of its weapon disciplines. Aaron has also completed the Society of American Fight Directors Theatrical Firearm Safety Course as well as receiving a Beginning Theatrical Combatant status in Broadsword from Dueling Arts International. In addition to his training in Tai Chi, Aaron is a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. He has created fights for Park Square Theatre,The Mammals Theater Company, Eat Street Players, Lyric Arts Company of Anoka, Six Elements Theatre Company, the Guthrie Theater’s 50th Anniversary Community Celebration, Concordia University of Saint Paul, the University of Minnesota, the University of Wisconsin Marathon County, Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists, Visitation School/VISTA Productions, Apple Valley High School, White Bear Lake Area High School, Central High School, Cretin-Derham Hall Theatre, Main Street School of Performing Arts as well as other theaters and institutions. He served as Stunt Coordinator and Stunt Double for the film Profile of a Killer and was the precision stunt driver for the movie Thin Ice. Aaron has taught stage combat for the Guthrie Theater, Park Square Theatre, Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists, Concordia University of Saint Paul, the University of Minnesota, as well as many other schools and institutions. He is a graduate of the Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Upcoming projects include the fight direction for The Illusion with Theatre Pro Rata at Park Square Theatre, Human Combat Chess with Six Elements Theatre Company and this summer, Aaron will be one of sixteen attending the Society of American Fight Directors’ Teacher Certification Workshop at the National Stage Combat Workshop.
